St. John Health System will reimburse you the full cost of your educational limited training license to practice each year. No reimbursement will be given towards permanent licensure.

Book/Conference Funds

PGY-1: $900.00
PGY-2: $500.00
PGY-3: $500.00
PGY-4: $1,500.00
PGY-5: $2,000.00
PGY-6: $2,000.00

Book and conference funds may be combined. These funds cannot be used for board examination fees!

Lab Coats

Two lab coats will be provided in PGY-1 year and one lab coat in each subsequent year of residency.


$2400* Meal allowance is provided each year to be used while on call at any of the St. John Providence Health hospitals.

Medical Insurance

Residents are eligible for participation in the St. John SmartPlan benefit program. This benefit program allows residents to choose which health, dental and vision plans best suit their personal and family benefit needs. This plan also provides short and long term disability coverage as well as life insurance.
